Der kleine, aber feine Unterschied...
Ich glaube diese kleine Anekdote von einem anderen Trainee hier in Bangalore fuehrt einem das Leben hier recht gut vor Augen:
Here's a description of buying a fruit juice this morning:
After a Poori breakfast, I went to a place called Fruit Juice
Corner.
Jouni: Could I have a Mango Fruit Juice?
Peddler: No, Mango, No
(I could clearly see that the whole place was full of Mangos, and it
is Mango season)
Jouni: No Mangos? So what are these? (pointing at Mangos)
Peddler: You want Mango?
Jouni: Yes.
Peddler: One Mango milk shake. (gives a glass full of mango juice)
Jouni: Milk Shake? Can I have a Mango Fruit Juice?
Peddler: Fruit Juice, no
Jouni: This is called Fruit Juice corner, no? You don't have fruit
juices?
Peddler: No
Jouni: Could you make me a Mango fruit juice, plain?
Peddler: Plain? Milk? Sugar? Water?
Jouni: No, plain
Peddler: Milk?
Jouni: Milk no, Sugar no, Water no. Plain.
Peddler: No possible, Sir.
Jouni: Why not?
Peddler: No possible make
Jouni: Just take a mango, put it in that mixer and pour in a glass.
I will drink it.
Peddler: No possible sir, mango will not mix properly, will get
creamy.
Jouni: It is possible, I have seen it done many times. Could you
please make a plain Mango fruit juice?
Peddler: Milk?
Jouni: No, plain
Peddler: Won't taste good
Jouni: that's ok, I like it like that
(Peddler puts the mango in and starts mixing it. In the meanwhile,
another peddler who had been standing next to the first one, pours
a glass of mango juice in front of me)
Peddler 2: Mango fruit juice
Jouni: With milk? Plain?
Peddler 2: With milk and sugar only
Jouni: No, I want plain.
(The peddlers discuss for a while in Kannada. Then the peddler
number 1 pours the mango juice from the mixer to a glass, gives it
to me, fills the mixer with milk, sugar and mango and looks at me
like saying: see, this is how its supposed to be)
Jouni: Thank you, this is a mango fruit juice, plain. It tastes
good.
Peddler: Want another one?
Jouni: no thank you, tomorrow
